What made you want to become an event professional?

It really did all start with my own wedding. I was young we did not have a lot of money and with my single mother being busy with my 4 younger siblings I did the majority of the planning myself. Two thoughts came out of that experience, one, I really really enjoyed the process and two, no one should have to do it on their own like I did.

From there I started helping friends and family plan their weddings, completed my Bridal Consultant Certificate and then started Reflections.

I believe God has blessed me with creative talents, business skills and a passion for relationships and marriages. I have chosen to use my creative gifts to compose designs that are unique and exceed my clients expectations. I have used my business skills to develop a company that is based on honesty, integrity and a desire to serve my clients and create a supportive working environment for my consultants.

What's your favorite part about working with clients?

I have two favourite moments on a wedding day, this first one is the groom's face when he sees his bride and the second is when the couple sees the room we have created for them.

When they walk in and finally can see the complete picture of all the hard work and ideas of the last year, their faces, their speechlessness and more often than not them saying how it's even better than they expected!

My Design Style:
My default is black and bling....however that's for me and my house and my personal style.

When I am designing for clients I love to look for really unique ideas that haven't been done before, finding inspiration in unusual places. I've designed events entirely around a curtain, a 2 second scene from 90210, a song lyric, and believe it or not, the Disney Princesses...a wedding not a birthday party.

If I can't find what I'm looking for I have it made, or make it myself, I don't like doing the same thing twice, you are unique and you deserve a unique event.

What do you like to do for fun?

I love hiking and camping in the mountains in the summer. I enjoy spending time in my garden with my roses and lilies. Some days cooking is what I do for fun and others I just cook to eat, but I love finding new recipes to try and fun new ingredients to use....I'm on a huge cilantro kick right now! My favourite past time is just sitting with good friends and chatting, my girlfriends and I have had 8 hour visits before....they say women need to use 1500 words in a day...I say that's an understatement.

If you could have 3 wishes granted what would they be?

1. That I could see the full impact of my words and actions before I said/did them. My personal life goal is to have a positive influence through relationships and it would be so much easier to know what to say or do if I could see the full impact.

2. To have a house on Okanagan Lake in Kelowna that all my family and friends could use and have fun in and relax in whenever they wanted.

3. That there was no such thing a muscle pain....I wish this even more the day after a wedding or weeding.
