Program for Independent Consultants

Own your own business AND be part of a team!

The wedding and event industry is growing by leaps and bounds, there are many more programs, certificates and diplomas available, many TV shows and movies bringing awareness to the career and even more interested candidates.

Job availability is slowly catching up to this demand, however, due to lack of positions, or more accurately, a lack of positions that offer room for growth and promotion, many decide to start their own business.

Starting your own business is a venture unto itself, and with the wedding planning industry being floded right now it is extremely difficult to break into the market on your own, even if you do understand business. Many talented wedding and event professionals are not as good at running their own business as they are at managing events and do not make it past a few frustrating years. This is disappointing for the planner as well as the industry who never got to really see the talent they had to offer.

Reflections Event Productions has created the Program for Independent Consultants (PIC) to provide a way for those who have a desire and talent to plan, design and coordinate weddings and events but may lack the time and expertise to start and run their own business.

Becoming a member of PIC allows you to work under the banner of Reflections and with a team but as an Independent Consultant. You get the benefit of working as a team with training and support as well as taking on your own clients and building your own reputation.

As a PIC member, Reflections will provide you with everything you need to set up your business:

How to Become a PIC Member

  1. Sign up as an Event Staff
Becoming an Event Staff is the first step to getting involved and becoming a PIC Member. The events you help with are counted as your working interview as well as the first training phase. The Lead Consultants on site will be watching to see your work ethic, how you take directions, ability to be a self starter and think on your feet, as well how you interact with the other event staff, production supervisors and event managers. Your performance as an event staff will count towards your PIC application.
